Nutritional Supplements

The human body requires 92 essential nutrients every day, made up of:

  • 60 Minerals
  • 16 Vitamins
  • 12 Amino Acids
  • 3 Fatty Acids
  • and Water!

That’s a lot of stuff that the body needs, and while it is very possible that you’re getting most of it on a regular basis (otherwise you’d be dead), are you getting them in good supply every single day?  There are thousands of chemical reactions occurring in your body all the time, the catalyst of which are these essential nutrients, so it really does make sense to ensure your body is getting everything it needs.

For the 84 Day Body Challenge, these are the Supplements that I’m taking:

First thing after waking - Drink up to 1 litre of Water
Before breakfast – One Tablespoon of Barley Grass Powder mixed with 60ml of CIAGA “Super Juice”, plus 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil and a Vitamin-D (1000IU) capsule
With LunchFish Oil Capsules (1000mg) x 3
With Afternoon SnackSpirulina Tablets x 2
With DinnerFish Oil Capsules (1000mg) x 3

As with anything, it is important to keep an open mind and not be too fixed on one way of doing things, and this in my opinion includes Supplements.  Our bodies are not machines and there is no perfect formula, so I might vary this, depending on advice from Matt Thom and the team at Fitness Kick.  My understanding of Supplements is based on what I have read in Chapter 13 of the “Change your Body” book, and the proof for me will be at the end of the Challenge.
